Afghan blok 16

Het heeft lang geduurd voordat ik weer wat van me liet horen, maar dat had verschillende oorzaken. Vermoeidheid speelde een rol, vermoeidheid door de zwangerschap (die overigens zeer goed verloopt!) en de examenstress (bij een docent is dat dan vooral correctie en tweede correctie). Verder hielp het ook niet dat ik de batterijoplader voor mijn fototoestel niet kon vinden en het accuutje wel leeg was. Maar geen foto's maken en niet bloggen levert weer meer borduurtijd op, dus ik zal het resultaat nu laten zien!

It has taken a long time before you heard from me again, but it had several causes. I was really tired, due to my pregnancy (which is going really well!!) and the final examinations stress (for a teacher this is mainly review the work of my own students and then a second review for the work of a colleague). Furthermore I couldn't use my camera, because the battery was empty and I coudn't find the recharger. But taking no photographs and not blogging leaves more time for stitching, so I will show you the results!

Dit is blok 16 van mijn afghan, weer een heel mooi vogelhuisje. Ik vond de stiklijntjes wel wat saai, zeker bij het hekje, maar toen werd het wel pas echt mooi. Ik heb deze keer geen foto van het geheel gemaakt, omdat ik daarvoor de afghan op de grond moet leggen (het past niet meer op tafel) en ik krijg de grond niet meer haarvrij nu we een logeerhond (de hond van mijn ouders) hebben. Hij verhaart gigantisch erg, het is alsof hij zuurstof in haren omzet, want naar mijn gevoel verliest hij meer haar per dag dan dat hij aan eten binnenkrijgt...
Volgende maand dus even een foto van het hele werk, en dan zit ook blok 17 er weer bij.

This is block 16 of my afghan, again a beautiful birdhouse. I disliked the many lines I had to stitch, especially on the fence, but when I did that, it really became beautiful. This time I didn't make a photo of the whole piece, because therefore I need to lay down my afghan on the floor (it doesn't fit on the table anymore) and I can't manage to get the floot hairfree now we have a guestdog (my parents' dog). He looses so much hair, it's like he transforms oxygen into hair, because I think he looses more hair a day than he eats dogfood...
So next month a photo of the whole piece, including the next block 17!
